Gerdau è un comune situato nel mezzo della Lüneburger Heide nel distretto di Uelzen, Bassa Sassonia. Il comune di Gerdau appartiene al comune unito di Suderburg e si trova lungo l'omonimo fiume Gerdau.
Il comune di Gerdau è composto dalle località di Bargfeld, Barnsen, Bohlsen, Gerdau, Groß Süstedt e Holthusen II. A differenza di altri comuni uniti, la località che dà il nome, Gerdau, è solo la seconda più grande dopo Bohlsen.
