Il campo di concentramento di Salzgitter-Bad fu istituito nel settembre 1944 dalle SS e dagli Hermann-Göring-Werke come campo esterno del campo di concentramento di Neuengamme a Salzgitter-Bad.
In un ex "campo di lavoro civile" con il numero 43 della "Bergbau- und Hüttenbedarf AG", circa 500 donne furono sistemate in quattro baracche a Salzgitter-Bad, provenienti da Ravensbrück e Bergen-Belsen. Nella "AG für Bergbau- und Hüttenbedarf", una controllata degli Hermann-Göring-Werke, e nell'azienda fornitrice "Kleineisenwerk Salzgitter" furono impiegate nella produzione bellica. Tra le donne vi erano numerose polacche, arrestate durante l'insurrezione di Varsavia.
