Efringen-Kirchen è un comune nel distretto di Lörrach ed è il comune più occidentale del Baden-Württemberg. Il comune è nato nel 1942 dalla fusione dei due antichi villaggi di Efringen e Kirchen.
L'allora comune di Efringen-Kirchen corrisponde all'attuale frazione di Efringen-Kirchen. Con la riforma comunale del 1974, otto comuni precedentemente autonomi sono stati accorpati come nuove frazioni. Pertanto, oggi il comune di Efringen-Kirchen è composto da nove frazioni.
