L'abbazia di Gengenbach era un'abbazia appartenente al circolo svevo all'interno del Sacro Romano Impero.
L'abbazia benedettina di Gengenbach fu fondata intorno al 725 dal re franco e conte Ruthard. Dal 820 era un monastero imperiale. L'imperatore Enrico II donò l'abbazia nel 1007 alla diocesi di Bamberga.
