Il monastero di Schönau è un monastero nella diocesi di Limburgo ai margini del comune di Strüth nel circondario di Rhein-Lahn nella regione tedesca della Renania-Palatinato.
Nel 1117, l'antenato della casa di Nassau, Dudo di Laurenburg, donò la sua tenuta a Lipporn al monastero di Allerheiligen a Sciaffusa in Svizzera per fondare una proosdij. Da questo nacque nel 1126 l'abbazia benedettina di Schönau, fondata dal conte Rupert I di Laurenburg, figlio di Dudo di Laurenburg.
