El monasterio de Schönau es un monasterio en la diócesis de Limburg, al borde de la comunidad local de Strüth, en el distrito de Rhein-Lahn, en el estado alemán de Renania-Palatinado.
En 1117, el antepasado de la casa de Nassau, Dudo de Laurenburg, donó su propiedad en Lipporn al monasterio de Allerheiligen en Schaffhausen, Suiza, para fundar una parroquia. De esto surgió en 1126 la abadía benedictina de Schönau, que fue fundada por el conde Rupert I de Laurenburg, hijo de Dudo de Laurenburg.
