Bilstein è un villaggio con poco più di mille abitanti nel comune di Lennestadt, nella regione del Sauerland, nello stato federato tedesco della Renania Settentrionale-Vestfalia. Nel villaggio si trova il castello Burg Bilstein.

Il paese di Bilstein si trova nel sud-ovest del comune di Lennestadt, nella valle del Veischedebach, un affluente sinistro del fiume Lenne. Attraverso questa valle e quindi anche attraverso Bilstein passa la Bundesstraße 55 da Olpe a Grevenbrück, comune di Lennestadt. Bilstein si trova a 7 chilometri a sud della confluenza del Veischedebach nel Lenne, ai margini di Grevenbrück. Una stradina montana lunga 6 km porta verso est ad Altenhundem, il centro principale di Lennestadt. Qui si trova anche la stazione ferroviaria più vicina. Il villaggio si trova a circa 305 metri sopra il livello del mare.
