Il lago Uettelsheimer si trova nel quartiere Baerl di Duisburg, sulla riva sinistra del Reno, ed è un'area di svago. A est confina con Homberg, a ovest con la città di Moers e a sud confina con Hochheide.
Attraverso l'escavazione di ghiaia si è creata una superficie d'acqua di 23 ha, il cui intorno è stato sviluppato dal 1969 al 1992. Sono state sistemate le linee di riva, creati sentieri e un paesaggio park, nonché realizzati rifugi per la flora e la fauna.
