Il castello di Alter Falkenstein, noto anche come castello di Alt-Falkenstein, nel Harz è un sito di rovine di un castello medievale situato nel territorio comunale di Falkenstein/Harz, nel circondario di Harz, in Sassonia-Anhalt. Fu costruito nell'11° secolo e distrutto nel 1115.
Le rovine del castello di Alter Falkenstein si trovano nella parte orientale del Harz, nella regione del Mansfelder Land, tra Mägdesprung e Meisdorf, su un dosso roccioso sopra la valle della Selke. Immerso in un paesaggio boschivo del Parco Naturale Harz/Sassonia-Anhalt, si trova nella riserva naturale Selketal a circa 1,25 chilometri a nord-ovest dalla Köhlerhütte, situata nei pressi della strada circondariale 1344 vicino a Pansfelde. Da lì, si può raggiungere le rovine del castello attraverso sentieri boschivi passando per il plateau degli cervi, alto fino a 364,2 m sul livello del mare.
