Il castello di Nieder-Modau è un'antica fortezza situata sul Schlossberg presso Modau, un quartiere di Ober-Ramstadt, nella contea di Darmstadt-Dieburg in Hesse.
Il Schlossberg, che ha una forma quasi conica ed è oggi nuovamente coperto di boschi, si trova a circa 12 chilometri a sud-est della città di Darmstadt nel Sudafrica, nell'area dell'Odenwald anteriore, a nord di Nieder-Modau e a sud di Ober-Ramstadt, ed ha un'altezza di circa 280 metri. Oggi il sentiero escursionistico O4 della città di Ober-Ramstadt, il Silberbergweg, attraversa anche il sito del castello. La montagna è bagnata a sud-ovest e a nord dal Modau in un semicerchio.
