La stazione di Bad Oldesloe è l'unica stazione della città circondariale di Bad Oldesloe. La DB Station & Service, in qualità di gestore, la classifica nella categoria 2 delle stazioni. Si trova lungo la linea ferroviaria Lübeck–Amburgo, aperta nel 1865. Dal 1875 la stazione è una stazione di separazione, e nello stesso anno è stata messa in esercizio anche la linea che si dirama qui verso Neumünster. Le linee seguenti, aperte nel 1887 e nel 1897 verso Ratzeburg e Schwarzenbek, sono oggi dismesse. Il binario della ferrovia Elmshorn-Barmstedt-Oldesloe viene utilizzato solo fino a Blumendorf nel traffico merci come binario industriale.
La stazione dispone di un ZOB. Nel trasporto pubblico locale, la stazione, inclusa l'area urbana e i dintorni, fa parte delle aree tariffarie di HVV e NAH.SH.
La stazione è stata inaugurata il 1° agosto 1865 con la linea ferroviaria Amburgo–Lübeck dalla Lübeck-Büchener Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft. Sotto la direzione di Walther Brecht, all'epoca direttore generale della società, è stato introdotto un servizio di treni espresso per Copenaghen e Stettino. A causa della riorganizzazione costruttiva del corpo ferroviario della sua società, la stazione è stata modernizzata.
