Il parco degli uccelli a Maria Veen è stato fondato nel 1971 ed è gestito dall'associazione per la protezione della natura e degli uccelli (presidente Werner Homoet: tel. 02864/2808). I visitatori possono aspettarsi un'imponente fauna avicola nell'incantevole area situata nel bosco. Circa 50 diverse specie di pappagalli e ara vivono qui. L'area sempre curata con oltre 400 uccelli in circa 90 voliere è conosciuta ben oltre i confini del paese. Ogni terza domenica del mese si tiene il mercato degli uccelli e degli animali da compagnia (dalle 9:00 alle 12:00).
