Epfach, situato sulla riva sinistra del Lech, è una frazione del comune di Denklingen nel distretto di Landsberg am Lech in Alta Baviera.
Vicino all'attuale paese, esisteva già dal 14 a.C. sulla collina successivamente chiamata Lorenzberg, immediatamente lungo il Lech, una stazione stradale romana con circa 80 soldati e cavalieri. Questi avevano il compito di garantire la sicurezza dell'incrocio della Via Claudia con la vecchia strada del sale, che, provenendo da Salisburgo, attraversava qui il fiume e poi conduceva a Kempten. Era il più importante nodo stradale della Baviera meridionale.
