La Otto-Hahn-Schule. Scuola media comunale per ragazzi e ragazze – Herford è una delle tre scuole medie nella città di Herford ed è intitolata al chimico tedesco Otto Hahn. Nella scuola a tempo pieno insegnano 39 insegnanti.
La scuola è stata fondata nel 1914 come scuola media. Il primo direttore scolastico è stato Heinrich Decius dal 1914 al 1921. In quel periodo la scuola è stata riconosciuta come istituto completamente sviluppato. Gustav Schmalhorst è stato il direttore scolastico dal 1922 al 1924, durante il suo mandato la scuola si è trasferita nell'attuale sede in Uhlandstraße. Nel 1933 solo l'1,5% di tutti gli studenti poteva essere ebreo. Nel 1944 la scuola è stata distrutta da un attacco aereo. Nel 1945 è stata concessa l'autorizzazione per una riapertura.
