Nyborg Slot è stata una delle residenze preferite dai re danesi. Dopo le guerre svedesi negli anni 1650, fu ampliato in una fortezza con sistemi di fortificazione e grandi bastioni, di cui oggi possiamo vedere i resti. Sulla Bastione della Regina si possono vedere quattro cannoni da 18 libbre, modello 1753, realizzati secondo i disegni originali del Museo del Tøjhus, oltre a due canoni granatieri originali da 84 libbre, sistema 1834.
