El Caminito del Rey o il sentiero del Re è un stretto sentiero montano o via ferrata che corre lungo le ripide pareti di una stretta gola ad El Chorro. L'origine di questo sentiero risale al 1901. All'epoca divenne chiaro che i lavoratori delle centrali idroelettriche delle cascate di Chorro e Gaitanejo avevano bisogno di un percorso per muoversi tra le cascate e per facilitare il trasporto di materiali. La costruzione del sentiero durò quattro anni e fu completata nel 1905. Il riferimento al sentiero del re risale al 1921. Quell'anno il re Alfonso XIII percorse questo sentiero per andare all'inaugurazione della diga Conde del Guadalhorce e il sentiero divenne noto con il suo nome attuale.
