Laguardia [1] è un comune spagnolo della provincia di Álava, nella comunità autonoma dei Paesi Baschi. Si trova a 64 km dal capoluogo, Vitoria, e fa parte della comarca della Rioja Alavesa. Si trova su un rilievo e è circondata da una mura che il re Sancho il Forte di Navarra ordinò di costruire. Sono ancora conservate cinque porte di accesso alla città: Mercadal, Carnicerías, Páganos, San Juan e Santa Engracia.[2] Le sue strade e i suoi angoli conservano un grande sapore medievale. La sua economia si basa sull'industria del vino, con produzione propria e numerose cantine.
