L'Open di Francia di tennis, noto anche come Roland Garros , è il secondo dei tornei del Grande Slam in ordine cronologico, tenendosi da metà maggio all'inizio di giugno a Parigi in Francia.Si svolge nello Stade Roland Garros, impianto intitolato all'omonimo aviatore dell'aeronautica francese nella prima guerra mondiale; la superficie di gioco è la terra rossa: è il solo torneo del Grande Slam che si svolge su questa superficie dopo l'abbandono della terra verde dallo US Open del 1978. La prima edizione si svolse nel 1891 e da allora si tiene con cadenza annuale; fino al 1924 era riservato ai soli tennisti francesi, oppure soci di un club di tennis francese; dal 1925 l'evento è stato aperto ai tennisti di tutto il mondo.
