Kaysersberg, prima del 1100, epoca della fondazione del priorato benedettino di Alspach, a monte di Kaysersberg.
Questo priorato fu trasformato in un convento di Clarisse nel 1282.
L'imperatore Federico II fece costruire un castello in un punto strategico: sia su un restringimento della valle
che su una collina che domina la strada verso
la Lorena, sul lato occidentale delle montagne Vosgine.
" Keisersperg " o " Monte dell'Imperatore ", è citato nel 1227 e deve la sua esistenza al castello.
Infatti, questo castello diede rapidamente origine a un'agglomerazione. Fu fortificato sin dal XIII secolo e nel 1293 fu dotato degli stessi privilegi di Colmar.
Kaysersberg fece parte della " Decapoli " dal 1354 fino al 1648.
La popolazione partecipò alla Guerra dei Contadini del 1525.
