Arrivati a Jumilhac-le-Grand, dietro la chiesa di Saint-Pierre-Es-Liens appare la sagoma alta e imponente del Castello di Jumilhac. Gli occhi sono irresistibilmente attratti dagli stupefacenti tetti rinascimentali di questo covo nobiliare del XII secolo. Decorate con coni, piramidi e creste allegoriche sul tema dell'alchimia, si dice che siano uniche in Europa.
Una volta superato il portico d'ingresso, si scoprono i quattro edifici principali del castello feudale. Attraversate le stanze e immergetevi nel cuore del XVI e XVII secolo nella sala da pranzo con i suoi rosoni in adobe, nella cucina a volta con i suoi oggetti in ottone o nel piccolo salone Luigi XV e nello studio adiacente. Nella stanza della "filatrice" con i suoi enigmatici murales, una signora sospettata di tenero amore è stata rinchiusa per più di vent'anni dal marito geloso?
