L'arte di coniugare storia e modernità: questa è l'ambizione del Museo del Merletto di Chantilly. Basato su una collezione di merletti neri e di oggetti legati alla tecnica di questo mestiere praticata a Chantilly durante il XVIII e il XIX secolo, il museo svolge un ruolo non solo di conservazione ma anche di conservazione del gesto e di sensibilizzazione alla tecnica del merletto a fuselli, in collaborazione con merlettaie professioniste e dilettanti. Oltre alla sua storia e alle sue collezioni permanenti di abiti, ventagli, scialli e ombrellini, il museo è decisamente orientato al futuro, intrecciando nella sua programmazione legami tra patrimonio e creazione contemporanea.
