Il monumento di Notre-Dame des Airs è costituito da una torre a base quadrata alta 17 metri, sormontata da una statua in ghisa della Vergine, alta tre metri. L'interno è organizzato come una cappella e alle pareti sono fissate tre targhe di marmo che ricordano i nomi dei figli di Dieulouard morti per la Patria. Si legge inoltre che questo monumento è stato eretto subito dopo la guerra del 1914-1918 e che il parroco aveva formulato un voto durante questo conflitto.
Costruito sul bordo della scogliera calcarea che domina lo Scarpone e la valle della Mosella, l'edificio è visibile a grande distanza ed è illuminato di notte per farlo risaltare. Nell'antichità, in questo sito esisteva un eremo dedicato a Santa Maddalena, tanto che il luogo è chiamato "le rocce della Cappella".
