Storia :
La route des crêtes è un'antica strada strategica costruita nel 1915 dalle truppe francesi
Due treni servivano il passo, il primo inaugurato nel 1903 collegava Gérardmer all'Hohneck attraverso lo Schlucht. Il secondo, che durò dal 1907 al 1914, collegava Munster al passo.
