Con i suoi sei metri di altezza, la croce nella piazza del mercato di Le Malzieu testimonia la potenza della città nel XIV secolo. Anche la presenza di una mano di legno nella parte superiore del pozzo, sul lato orientale, testimonia la vocazione di questo monumento, una croce di giustizia per i baroni di Mercuryur. Questa croce potrebbe risalire al XIV secolo, ma non vi è alcuna menzione in merito.
