Un evento straordinario nella storia del pianeta ha avuto luogo nella regione di Rochechouart, Chassenon, circa? 200 milioni di anni fa. Un asteroide del diametro di un chilometro e mezzo ha compiuto il suo viaggio a 72.000 km/h.
L'Espace Météorite Paul Pellas è uno spazio espositivo permanente, con un'ampia gamma di attività incentrate su diversi temi: il sistema solare, i meteoriti, gli effetti e le conseguenze della caduta di oggetti, i crateri d'impatto nel mondo e il cratere francese Astroblème di Rochechouart-Chassenon.
In un'area di circa 150 m², campioni di rocce e meteoriti, pannelli didattici, modelli, terminali informatici e proiezioni video aiutano a comprendere meglio gli argomenti e, all'uscita, si può entrare in un piccolo negozio.
