L'idea di un giardino toscano nell'ex città vescovile di Albas è stata naturale. Nel Medioevo, Albas subì l'influenza del vescovo Antoine de Luzech. Durante le sue frequenti visite in Italia, in particolare a Firenze, introdusse elementi architettonici del Rinascimento italiano nei castelli, nelle chiese e nei chiostri che costruì lungo la valle del Lot.
Avviato dall'associazione Albas Patrimoine, guidata dallo scrittore Jean-Pierre Alaux, e magnificamente illuminato di sera, questo giardino che si affaccia sul fiume, sotto il palazzo episcopale (l'attuale municipio), è destinato a essere un luogo di contemplazione, meditazione e intrattenimento, ospitando concerti e conferenze.
