La idea de un jardín toscano en la antigua ciudad episcopal de Albas se hizo evidente de forma natural. En la Edad Media, Albas recibió la influencia del obispo Antoine de Luzech. Durante sus frecuentes visitas a Italia, especialmente a Florencia, introdujo elementos arquitectónicos del Renacimiento italiano en los castillos, iglesias y claustros que construyó a lo largo del valle del Lot. Iniciado por la asociación Albas Patrimoine, dirigida por Jean-Pierre Alaux, y magníficamente iluminado por la noche, este jardín con vistas al río, más abajo del palacio episcopal (actual ayuntamiento), es un lugar de contemplación, meditación y entretenimiento, que acoge conciertos y conferencias.
