Con oltre 1.000 ettari, il Lac de Vassivière è il più grande lago del Limousin. È una località turistica con 5 spiagge sorvegliate in estate, un'ampia offerta di alloggi (cottage, campeggi, villaggi turistici, ecc.), un Centro Internazionale d'Arte e Paesaggio con il suo bosco di sculture sull'isola di Vassivière, eventi culturali (Festival del racconto, Folie! Les mots, Saint Amour, ....), attività sportive (centro ippico, escursioni), un sentiero lacustre unico intorno al lago, servizi di navetta, sport acquatici (pedalò, canoe, kayak, pedalò, base a vela, windsurf, sci nautico, ecc.) Pesca di seconda categoria tutto l'anno (luccio, lucioperca, persico, ecc.). A piedi, in mountain bike o a cavallo, si può esplorare la natura in piena libertà.
