Situata ai piedi della Tête des Faux, nel cuore della foresta, la Necropoli Nazionale del Carrefour Duchesne si svela al crocevia.
La genesi di questo cimitero atipico è il risultato delle sanguinose battaglie che hanno avuto luogo nel massiccio della Tête des Faux durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale.
Prende il nome dal maggiore Duchesne, comandante di battaglione del 215° RI, morto il 2 dicembre 1914 alla Tête des Faux e contiene le tombe di 294 soldati sepolti e un ossario dove sono sepolti 116 soldati.
Sul sito di un importante ex campo militare, oggi questo luogo ricco di storia si fonde armoniosamente con l'ambiente naturale che lo circonda. A seconda del tempo, è sorprendente osservare la profonda atmosfera che emerge.
Il cimitero di Duchesne può essere scoperto con un'escursione a piedi o in mountain bike dal Col du Calvaire. In inverno, le piste di sci di fondo della stazione Lac Blanc sono vicine.
