(La Sacra Sindone, un telo di lino in cui si dice sia stato disegnato il ritratto di Cristo semplicemente appoggiandolo sul suo volto dopo la crocifissione, è stata a Lirey dal 1353 al 1418).
Demolito durante la Rivoluzione, molti dei suoi arredi sono stati acquisiti da altri luoghi di culto e musei, tra cui gli altari oggi conservati al Victoria and Albert Museum di Londra.
La chiesa attuale, dedicata all'Annunciazione della Vergine, fu costruita tra il 1870 e il 1880.
