South Stoke è un villaggio e una parrocchia civile sulla riva est del Tamigi, circa 1,5 miglia a nord di Goring-on-Thames nel Sud dell'Oxfordshire. Include meno di 1 miglio a nord il piccolo villaggio e la casa padronale di Littlestoke.
Nel 975 il re Edgar concesse a Osweard terreni a Stoke, probabilmente quelli delle tenute di South Stoke e Offham. La tenuta passò all'Abbazia di Eynsham nel 1094. Al momento del Hundred Rolls nel 1279, South Stoke aveva 40 inquilini e solo tre proprietari terrieri. Woodcote, a 3 miglia a est di South Stoke, si era sviluppato come insediamento dipendente nel 1109. Fu seguita da Exlade Street nel 1241 e Greenmoor nel 1366.
