Ashburton è una città situata sul bordo sud-sudest di Dartmoor nel Devon, Inghilterra, adiacente all'A38. La città si trova a 20 miglia a nord-est di Plymouth e a 17 miglia a sud-ovest di Exeter.
In passato era importante come città mineraria e rimane la città più grande all'interno del parco nazionale. Ashburton ha cinque pub nel centro della città e cinque ristoranti/caffè. La città fa anche parte del quartiere elettorale denominato Ashburton e Buckfastleigh, la cui popolazione nel censimento del 2011 era di 7.718.
