Tiverton è una città e una parrocchia civile nel Devon, Inghilterra, ed è il centro commerciale e amministrativo del distretto di Mid Devon. La popolazione nel 2019 era di 20.587.
Il nome della città si ritiene derivi da "Twy-ford-ton" o "Twyverton", che significa "la città su due guadi", ed è stata storicamente chiamata "Twyford". La città si trova al confluire dei fiumi Exe e Lowman. L'occupazione umana nella zona risale all'età della pietra, con molti strumenti di selce trovati nella zona. Un forte collinare dell'età del ferro, il Castello di Cranmore, si trova in cima alla collina di Exeter sopra la città, e un forte romano o campo di marcia è stato scoperto sulla collina sotto Knightshayes Court vicino a Bolham, appena a nord della città.
