Il Peak District è un'area montuosa di circa 1.440 km² dell'Inghilterra centro-settentrionale. Si tratta di una propaggine meridionale dei Monti Pennini, la quale si estende perlopiù nel nord del Derbyshire , ma anche tra le contee del Cheshire, della Grande Manchester, dello Yorkshire meridionale, dello Staffordshire e dello Yorkshire occidentale, formando quello che, dal 1951, è il parco nazionale noto con il nome Peak District National Park, la prima zona dichiarata protetta dal governo della Gran Bretagna. La regione storica di Peak District sfugge in realtà ai confini imposti dal parco, che non includono le grandi città, le cave e le aree industriali.
