In una delle piazze più belle di Atene troverai il monumento di Lisikrato. Il monumento che vedi qui risale al 333 a.C. ed è stato ammirato sia da Lord Byron che da Chateaubriand. Entrambi soggiornarono in un chiostro accanto alla piazza durante la loro visita qui. Il monastero fu distrutto nel 1824 da Omar Turk Pasha durante la guerra di indipendenza greca. Chateaubriand incluse le sue storie di Atene nel suo libro "Les Martyrs" e "Itinéraire de Paris à Jérusalem".
