Malnate è un comune italiano di 16 375 abitanti della provincia di Varese, in Lombardia. Dista 8 chilometri dal capoluogo ed è il 9º comune della provincia per numero di abitanti.
Il comune consiste di altre località oltre al nucleo principale: Folla, Rovera, Monte Morone, Baraggia, San Salvatore e Gurone. La posizione del paese, attraversato dalla Strada statale 342 Briantea e dalla rete ferroviaria FNM favorì il largo sviluppo della cittadina in epoca contemporanea, ulteriormente rafforzato da una forte immigrazione, sia interregionale sia interstatale.
