Rivoli dista 25 chilometri da Verona, rispetto al capoluogo è in posizione nord ovest, si trova allo sbocco della Vallagarina ed a presidio della Chiusa Veneta. Il comune è lambito dal fiume Adige, a poca distanza si trovano sia il lago di Garda che le colline della Valpolicella.
Il comune di Rivoli ricade nell'anfiteatro morenico in corrispondenza del margine nord orientale dove si incontra con la dorsale del Monte Baldo. Oltre ad essere ampiamente condizionato dall'azione glaciale, il territorio di Rivoli Veronese è delimitato dalla dorsale baldense. Quest'ultimo ha avuto il ruolo di binario lungo il quale la lingua glaciale avanzava, andando così a modellare la Valle.
