Motta Visconti un comune italiano di 8 089 abitanti della città metropolitana di Milano in Lombardia.
Il nucleo originario era chiamato Campese, a ovest dell'attuale Motta Visconti. Probabilmente già esistente in epoca romana o celtica , divenne sede di una signoria. I de Campesis noti sono però successivi al 1100 e occupano importanti cariche a Pavia. Durante questo periodo, a causa delle lotte tra Milano e Pavia, gli abitanti di Campese si trasferirono progressivamente alla Motta, una fortezza dei de Campesis posta più a est e il borgo rimarrà poi disabitato. Motta verrà acquistata da un rampollo della famiglia Visconti, alla quale il paese legherà il nome. Nel 1786 il comune di Motta Visconti fu inserito nella provincia di Pavia.
