Il comune di Minturno è adagiato sulle propaggini costiere e meridionali dei Monti Aurunci. Le sue spiagge sono bagnate dal mar Tirreno nel golfo di Gaeta e si spingono a sud sino alla foce del Garigliano. La parte principale dell'abitato oggi si estende con continuità dalla collina della medievale Traetto fino alle località costiere di Scauri e di Marina di Minturno.
