Busto Arsizio è un comune italiano di 82 925 abitanti della provincia di Varese, in Lombardia. La città è un polo industriale e commerciale di grande importanza situato in un contesto densamente urbanizzato.
Abitata in epoca romana, era conosciuta in età medievale per la concia delle pelli. Nota nel Cinquecento per la lavorazione dei fustagni, si sviluppò nell'Ottocento grazie alle numerose filature e tessiture di cotone.
