Loreto Aprutino è un comune italiano di 7 099 abitanti della provincia di Pescara in Abruzzo, ed è uno dei centri principali dell'area Vestina.
Il territorio di Loreto Aprutino e l'intera area vestina hanno restituito materiali litici inquadrabili nel Paleolitico superiore e ricollegabili alla più antica frequentazione umana dell'area. Il sito fu abitato da epoca remota come testimoniano le ricerche condotte dal barone Giovanni Battista Leopardi, con lo scavo delle celebri necropoli italiche di Colle Fiorano e Farina-Cardito. Le prime notizie storiche documentate risalgono all’872 quando il gastaldo Allone vende a Romano, Abbate di San Clemente a Casauria, due corti, una presso Tocco da Casauria e l’altra nel Pennese, in località Ocretanum unitamente alle chiese di Santa Giusta e San Florenzio ricevendo in cambio due cavalli e 300 soldi.
