Il terremoto dell'Irpinia del 1980 fu un sisma che si verificò il 23 novembre 1980 e che colpì la Campania centrale e la Basilicata centro-settentrionale, con parte della provincia di Foggia entro il confine con le due regioni.
Caratterizzato da una magnitudo di 6.9 con epicentro tra i comuni di Teora, Castelnuovo di Conza e Conza della Campania, causò circa 280.000 sfollati, 8.848 feriti e, secondo le stime più attendibili, 2.914 morti.
