L’assedio e caduta di Mozia avvennero durante il principio del IV sec. a.C., ad opera dell'esercito siracusano e dei suoi alleati. L'isola rappresentava per Cartagine uno dei punti commerciali più fiorenti in Sicilia, oltre che solida fortezza; fu per questo motivo che la sua contesa, disputata tra punici e sicelioti, ebbe grande rilevanza nelle cronache del tempo.
La caduta di Mozia portò come conseguenze immediate il saccheggio e lo spopolamento dell'isola. La conseguenza a lungo termine fu la sua progressiva perdita d'importanza in chiave punica; i cartaginesi la sostituirono con Lilibeo, città dalle controverse origini, definita come "l'erede di Mozia".
