Il Tempio di Efesto, risalente al 430 aC circa, è probabilmente il più giovane tra gli edifici della Valle dei Templi di Agrigento.
Le rovine del Tempio di Vulcano si trovano nei pressi della Porta V, sul lato ovest della Collina dei Templi. Tra il 1928 e il 29 furono eseguiti numerosi restauri e furono rimosse le masserie addossate al tempio. Oggi è possibile vedere ben poco dell'antica struttura in quanto rimane solo parte della fondazione con gli alti gradini in pietra del basamento e resti di due colonne.
Il Tempio di Vulcano è raggiungibile solo direttamente tramite la Ferrovia Turistica dei Templi con una fermata appositamente costruita nel 2001. Chi prenota anche l'accesso al giardino della Kolymbethra durante la visita alla Valle dei Templi può raggiungere il tempio tramite questa strada.
