Il portale principale fu spostato dal lato ovest a quello sud e davanti ad esso fu costruito un ampio piazzale. Il portico in stile gotico-catalano, a tre arcate, realizzato intorno al 1465 sulla facciata sud, costituisce oggi l'ingresso principale della cattedrale.
La prima colonna , a sinistra, apparteneva alla cattedrale e alla moschea originarie , come testimonia un'iscrizione araba, con un versetto del Corano, nella colonna. Le statue del portale furono realizzate tra il 1426 e il 1430 da Antonio Gambara, mentre le foglie lignee del 1432 furono realizzate da Francesco Miranda.
Il mosaico raffigurante la Madonna risale al XIII secolo. Sulle pareti sono presenti due monumenti che ricordano l'incoronazione di Carlo III e Vittorio Amedeo II, ultimo re ad essere incoronato qui nel dicembre 1713.
