Eerbeek è il centro abitato più grande del comune olandese di Brummen. Il numero di abitanti è di 9.845. In passato, Brummen era il centro principale. Già nel 1046 si fa riferimento a Eerbeek, anche se allora era conosciuto come Erbeke. Questo era originariamente il nome del torrente che ora si chiama Eerbeekse Beek. Il significato non è del tutto chiaro. Probabilmente "er" deriva da "erd", che significa qualcosa come terra, argilla, limo o terreno edificabile. "Beke" è la stessa parola dell'attuale "beek". In seguito, il nome del torrente è diventato il nome del villaggio. Intorno al 1663, il nome del villaggio appare sulla carta come Eertbeeck, e il torrente è chiamato Eertbeeckse beek.
