Wanneperveen è un villaggio nel nord-ovest della provincia olandese di Overijssel, che si trova a circa 7 chilometri a ovest di Meppel ed è parte del comune di Steenwijkerland.
Il nome Wanneperveen è stato menzionato per la prima volta nel 1284 in documenti ufficiali. Il villaggio ha quindi celebrato nel 1984 il suo 700° anniversario. Il nome Wanneperveen si riferisce da un lato alla torbiera, dall'altro a un piccolo ruscello che un tempo scorreva nella zona del villaggio: wan significa poco e epe o apa significa acqua.
