Wanneperveen es un pueblo en el noroeste de la provincia neerlandesa de Overijssel, que se encuentra aproximadamente a 7 kilómetros al oeste de Meppel y forma parte del municipio de Steenwijkerland.
El nombre Wanneperveen se menciona por primera vez en documentos oficiales en 1284. El pueblo también celebró su 700 aniversario en 1984. El nombre Wanneperveen hace referencia por un lado a la turba, y por otro lado a un pequeño río que solía fluir en el lugar del pueblo: wan significa poco y epe o apa significa agua.
