Il villaggio di Hoog Soeren è circondato dalle foreste della Riserva Reale Foresta di Het Loo e gode dello status di area rurale protetta nel comune di Apeldoorn.
Soprattutto nei fine settimana, i turisti visitano il villaggio situato in una zona boschiva. Il villaggio di Hoog Soeren si trova nel mezzo delle foreste dei domini reali meridionali. I domini reali settentrionali si trovano a nord della strada Amersfoortseweg. Qui si trova, tra l'altro, il Palazzo Reale "Het Loo".
Durante le passeggiate attraverso le vaste foreste e brughiere, è possibile vedere spesso cervi e cinghiali selvatici. Di sera, si possono anche incontrare volpi o tassi. In autunno, in uno dei pochi luoghi in Olanda, è ancora possibile udire il "bramito" dei cervi, segno che è iniziata la stagione degli accoppiamenti.
Il villaggio si trova a 85 metri sopra il livello del mare.
