Si trova a sud-ovest di Bolsward, a nord-ovest di Hieslum e a nord-est di Workum. Il nucleo del villaggio si trova a est della N359, su entrambi i lati del canale Workumertrekvaart. Nel 2021 il villaggio contava 485 abitanti. Fa parte del villaggio in gran parte la frazione Angterp. Insieme a Hieslum ha un'associazione degli interessi del villaggio, fondata nel 1917, e vengono chiamati insieme anche un villaggio gemello.
